| Köfte |
Well, Spring has arrived but the cold weather has lingered a little longer than expected here in Alabama. It was really cold a couple of nights ago and I wanted to make some good old comfort food.  What better to satisfy than some Köfte and potatoes hot out of the oven.  Of course as usual, I had some
garlic yogurt handy for mine!  Afiyet Olsun!

Cooking Directions

| Köfte ready for oven! |
-
            Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

-
Place ground beef, salt, toasted bread, grated onion, milk and parsley in a large mixing bowl. Using clean hands, mix ingredients until well combined. Shape into round patties about 2-3 inches in diameter or about the same diameter as your potatoes.

-
Slice your potatoes and tomatoes into round slices. Cut peppers in half.

-
In a 9X13 baking dish (I used a clay dish), place one slice of potato, one ground beef patty or Köfte  one tomato slice and then a pepper slice. Continue in the same manner until all the potatoes and Köfte are arranged in the pan.

-
Mix the Oregano, salt, tomato sauce and water and pour over the potatoes and Köfte.

-
Place in oven and cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until potatoes and Köfte are done. Enjoy - Afiyet Olsun!
